Spellbound, Alfred Hitchcock (1945 USA Mystery)

on IMDB

Characters: 3
Screenplay: 3
Cinematography: 2
Emotional: 2

Overall: 3.0

Spellbound does a great job combining mystery, suspense, a chase, romance, and psychology. In addition, its Dali-esque dream scenes are spectacular. The acting and chemistry is great. The pacing of the story engaged me to the point of actively looking for clues and trying to predict what will happen.

The plot itself is a unrealistic, and its characters are a bit thin and one dimensional. The skiing scene is atrocious, as with the ending scene. Despite its flaws and dated elements, Spellbound kept me guessing and invested in the outcome.
